Vilamoura and the Algarve are blessed with about 300 days of bright blue sunshine every year. Unlike it's neighboring country Spain, Portugal and in particular Vilamoura and the Algarve enjoy warm dry winters and hot summers that are cooled by the breeze that comes inland of the Atlantic Ocean.

Long hot sunny days stretch deep into the night and unless you are very unlucky you will not need a jacket at all. August can get very hot and if you are here for any length of time the sun can seem a little relentless but who would have it any other way!
April, May and October are also very pleasant months although if the hotel or apartments you are staying at do not have a heated pool swimming could be out of the question. You should definitely bring a jacket or jumper for the evenings but this is perfect weather for those long holiday lunches that we promise ourselves we will do more of when we get home.
November, December, January and February are the coldest months in Vilamoura. Weather wise its perfect for the hordes of golfers who flock here to play golf in a near perfect climate. Slightly chilly mornings and evenings generally give way to warm afternoons to give you almost perfect golf playing conditions.
If you are visiting Vilamoura over these months you should definitely bring a jacket and jumper. It may even be worth packing some wet weather gear in case you find yourselves in the middle of a wet week.
If you are looking for a suggestion as to when you are likely to find the best weather in Vilamoura then I would have to say either May, June or September. Out of all of them September is my personal favorite.
